Cody Owens was a beloved father, husband, brother, and friend. Growing up raising horses and working cattle in Canyon, TX he developed a deep love for agriculture and loved helping not only his children, but others in the community to share in that as well. Cody spent his high school years in Harrah, OK raising horses with his parents, Merle & Betty, and showing stock show animals with the local FFA chapter. This is where he met his high school sweetheart, Cindy, who became his wife of 28 years, and started a family. Later in life, after moving to Claude, TX, he served on the board of directors for the Armstrong County Livestock Show and continued his efforts to help the youth of the community enjoy raising animals as much as he did. A Sante Fe (later BNSF) engineer/conductor for 22 years, he spent his days riding the rails and building friendships with his fellow railroaders. He was always well known for helping anyone in need, whether they be a friend, family, or complete stranger. It is with this in mind that we founded this organization in an effort to continue his legacy by raising funds to be used in the areas that he cared about most.
